Location of the municipality

Valbroye has been a municipality in the canton of Vaud in Switzerland since July 1, 2011 . It emerged from the municipalities of Cerniaz (VD) , Combremont-le-Grand , Combremont-le-Petit , Granges-près-Marnand , Marnand , Sassel , Seigneux and Villars-Bramard on July 1, 2011. The seat of the municipal administration is in Granges-près-Marnand.

history

The merged municipality should originally also include the municipalities of Champtauroz , Dompierre , Henniez and Treytorrens (Payerne) . The proposed merger was rejected by three municipalities. A total of 33 voters in Dompierre, Henniez and Treytorrens tipped the balance. After that, Champtauroz had also decided to get out of the project.
