history

Since the Middle Ages , Sédeilles was part of the Villarzel dominion, which belonged to the Bishop of Lausanne. With the conquest of Vaud by Bern in 1536, the village came under the administration of the Bailiwick of Moudon . After the collapse of the Ancien Régime , Sédeilles belonged to the canton of Léman from 1798 to 1803 during the Helvetic Republic, which then became part of the canton of Vaud when the mediation constitution came into force . In 1798 it was assigned to the Payerne district.
After the voters of Sédeilles had voted with a large majority in favor of the municipality merger, the merger of Sédeilles with Rossens (VD) and Villarzel to form the new enlarged municipality of Villarzel took effect on July 1, 2006 .
Sédeilles does not have its own church, it belongs to the parish of Villarzel .
