Geographical location
Vienna is located in the northwest of Kennebec County, with Franklin County in the northwest . Parker Pond and Flying Pond are to the south and Crowell Pond and Kirball Pond to the north . The surface is hilly and the 359 m high McGaffey Mountain is the highest point.

history
Settlement of Vienna started around 1786. The area was initially called Goshen Plantation . On February 20, 1802, the area was organized as a town. Land was given to Mount Vernon in 1802, 1826 and 1853. Territories were added by Rome in 1815 and 1840, and land was given to Chesterville in 1847.
Born in Vienna, Milton Bradley founded the Milton Bradley Company , also known as MBGames, in Springfield Massachusetts in 1860 .
