Albion is a town in Kennebec County in the state of Maine in the United States . In 2010 there were 2041 inhabitants in 819 households on an area of 102.20 km².

According to the United States Census Bureau , Albion has a total area of 102.20 km², of which 100.57 km² is land and 1.63 km² is made up of water .
Geographical location
Albion is in northeast Kennebec County, on the border with Waldo County . The Mill Stream and Fifteenmile Stream flow north through the Town area and flow into the Sebasticook River . The Lovejoy Pond is the largest lake in Albion. The surface is flat without any major elevations.

history
Albion was first organized as a Freetown Plantation in 1802 . In 1804 the organization followed as Town under the name Fairfax. This was changed to Ligonia on March 10, 1821 and to Albion on February 25, 1824. Albion ceded land in 1818 from which Town China was founded. An area was added in 1835, which was previously known as the Territory North of Albion. In 1853 part of the Unity Plantation was added and in 1863 land was given away from which the Town of Benton was founded.
The area was settled in 1690 by 6 families who came from York County.
Albion was connected to the Wiscasset – Burnham railway . In the area of the train station in Albion, part of the track was rebuilt.

The US Highway 202 runs north to south through Albion Albion and connects the north with Bangor and south of Portland. The Maine State Route 137 branches off to the east of the highway.
