Wola [ ˈvɔla ] ( German Freyhof ) is a place in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and belongs to the rural community Budry (Buddern) in the powiat Węgorzewski ( Angerburg district ).
Geographical location
Wola is located in the northeast of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , six kilometers northeast of the district town of Węgorzewo (Angerburg) .
history
The small estate, known as Freyhof until 1945, was still called Freyberg until December 4, 1920 . It was a dwelling place in the municipality Wenzken ( Polish Wiecki ) in the same District , which until 1945 the district Angerburg in Administrative district Gumbinnen the Prussian province of East Prussia belonged.
In 1945 Freyhof came in consequence of the war with the entire southern East Prussia to Poland and received the Polish name "Wola". Today it is a small village in the rural community Budry (Buddern) in the powiat Węgorzewski , before 1998 the Suwałki Voivodeship , since then part of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship .

Until 1945 Freyhof was parish in the Evangelical Church of Buddern in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and in the Catholic Church of the Good Shepherd in Angerburg in the Diocese of Warmia . Today Wola belongs to the Catholic parish Budry in the diocese of Ełk (Lyck) of the Roman Catholic Church in Poland and to the Protestant parish in Węgorzewo (Angerburg) , a branch of the parish of Giżycko (Lötzen) in the diocese of Masuria of the Evangelical Augsburg Church in Poland .

Wola is located east of the Polish voivodeship road DW 650 , the former German Reichsstraße 136 , and can be reached from here via Węgorzewo (Angerburg) as well as via Droglewo (Karlshof) . There is no longer a railway connection since the Rastenburg – Angerburg railway line , which runs past the site to the north , can no longer be operated due to the war.
