Body fitness
Body fitness was recognized as a new discipline on October 27, 2002 at the IFBB Executive Council and IFBB Congress in Cairo (Egypt). The IFBB tried to create an antipole to conventional bodybuilding, in which muscle mass had developed into the decisive evaluation criterion over time. Therefore, the main focus in body fitness is on an athletic body for the participants, which should not appear too muscular or too lean. In addition, in contrast to bodybuilding, the face, hair and make-up are also included in the assessment.
