Yeoju Citizen FC is a soccer franchise based in Yeoju , South Korea . The club plays in the K3 League Basic , the fifth highest division in South Korea.
history
Foundation (2017)
Yeoju Citizen FC was founded on September 10, 2017 under the name Yeoju Sejong FC and joined the K3 League on January 20, 2018 . The owner of the club is officially the Yeoju market owner Won Kyeong-heui and the sporting director of the club is the Yeoju football association president Yu Ho-il. Park Jong-hwan was also introduced as general manager. The club's first coach is Oh Ju-po .
Premiere season (2018)
The club played for the play-off games from the start, and in between even for direct promotion. Towards the end of the season, however, they left a few points, so that at the end of the season they reached a middle 6th tabbing place and just missed the play-off games. In the cup, however, things went better. In the first main round they met Ajou University , which the club defeated 2-1. In the following round of the cup they met the amateur team of SMC Engineering , which they could only defeat 5-4 on penalties. In the third round they met the second division Asan Mugunghwa FC , which they lost 7-0.
At the beginning of 2019, the club announced that they would appear under the name Yeoju Citizen FC from this season .
