Yves Lamarque

Yves Lamarque (born November 30, 1967 in Dax ) is a former French rower . He was world champion in 1993 and third in the double scull in 1994 .

Athletic career

Lamarque won the bronze medal with the double scull at the Junior World Championships in 1985. In 1986 he finished fifth with the double scull in the Match des Seniors , a forerunner of the U23 World Championships , in 1987 he received the silver medal with the double scull. At the World Championships in 1987 he finished twelfth with the double foursome. In 1988 and 1989 he won the senior's match with the double foursome . At the 1989 World Championships , Lamarque finished eighth in the quad sculls. The following year he rowed the double scull to ninth place at the 1990 World Championships . In 1991 Lamarque finished third in the Mediterranean Games . At the Olympic Games in 1992 , the French double scull started with the line-up of Fiorenzo Di Giovanni , Fabrice LeClerc , Yves Lamarque and Samuel Barathay and finished sixth.

In 1993 Barathay and Lamarque formed a double scull. They won the title at the Mediterranean Games in Languedoc-Roussillon and at the World Championships in Račice u Štětí . At the 1994 World Championships, Barathay and Lamarque won the bronze medal behind the Norwegians and the Germans. The following year Lamarque rowed the double scull to seventh place at the world championships . At the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta , Yves Lamarque, Vincent Lepvraud , Sébastien Vieilledent and Fabrice LeClerc rowed in the French quadruple scull , the French finished twelfth.
