Arnold Jonke
Arnold Jonke (born December 25, 1962 in Perau , Carinthia ) is a former Austrian rower .
Life
Jonke started rowing professionally when he was 18 years old. He celebrated his greatest sporting successes with his partner Christoph Zerbst in a double scull . The two won their first international medal in 1989 with a bronze medal at the World Championships in Bled, Yugoslavia . In 1990 the team in Tasmania ( Australia ) became world champions ahead of the Germans Thomas Lange / Stefan Ullrich . The last highlight of their career was the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona , where Jonke and Zerbst won the silver medal behind Australians Stephen Hawkins and Peter Antonie .
