Stranka Alenke Bratušek ("Party of Alenka Bratušek"; formerly Zavezništvo Alenke Bratušek (ZaAB); "Alliance of Alenka Bratušek" or "Alliance of Alenka Bratušek") is a political party in Slovenia , which is located as left-liberal .

history

The party was founded by Alenka Bratušek on May 31, 2014 . 250 members took part in the founding congress in Ljubljana , including the MPs Maša Kociper , Jerko Čehovin , Jani Möderndorfer , Maja Dimitrovski , the ministers Roman Jakič and Metod Dragonja , as well as the former MP Peter Vilfan . The founding of the party was preceded by the deselection of Bratušek as chairman of the Pozitivna Slovenija party, which resulted in her resignation as prime minister and the breakup of the governing coalition.

The Alenka Bratušek alliance won 4.34% of the valid votes in the parliamentary elections in Slovenia in 2014 on July 13, 2014 and thus 4 seats in parliament. After the party was seen by pollsters below the four percent hurdle for a long time after its entry into parliament and its survey results could no longer be statistically recorded at times, the party made it back into parliament with slight gains in the 2018 parliamentary election. Alenka Bratušek herself, however, missed the re-entry into parliament due to fewer preferential votes.

The party has been a member of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe (ALDE) since November 2014 .
