The central bus station (ZOB) Magdeburg is located in the state capital of Saxony-Anhalt, Magdeburg . It is operated by the Magdeburg transport company.
location
The bus station is located at the Damaschkeplatz traffic junction in downtown Magdeburg. The central transfer point for public transport in Magdeburg is located there, where various tram lines and inner-city bus lines of the MVB meet (stop "Damaschkeplatz / ZOB"). Furthermore, Magdeburg Central Station is to the east and can be reached via Konrad-Adenauer-Platz through the west entrance. The main train station is the most important hub in rail traffic in northern Saxony-Anhalt. The ZOB is thus part of the interface between rail, tram and bus in Magdeburg.
The bus station is connected to the A 2 and A 14 via the entrances and exits to Magdeburger Ring ( B 71 ) . To the north, Ernst-Reuter-Allee runs past the central bus station as one of the main traffic arteries in the city center for road traffic from the western parts of the city. A tunnel has been built there since 2015, which will lead to extensive road closures for several years. Coming from the south, the ZOB can be reached via Maybachstraße with a two-way cycle path that is compulsory to use. There are no separate bicycle and car parking spaces for shuttle and pick-up traffic, but the corresponding facilities of the main train station are in the immediate vicinity.
description
The bus station, completed in 2003, has seven covered bus platforms on which around 260,000 travelers arrive and depart every year. These have seating and digital display boards.
There is also the closed waiting hall with information and ticket office next to bus platform 1. There is another bus platform for arriving buses, but without a roof or seating.
