The fourth Lothringische Infantry Regiment. 136 was an infantry joined the Prussian army .
history
The regiment was set up by the Highest Cabinet Ordre (AKO) on March 11, 1887 on April 1, 1887. It was formed by delivering individual companies from the following infantry regiments: 1st battalion: 4th company of 8th Infantry Regiment (4th / IR 8,) 6th / IR 48, 6 / IR 52, 8 / IR 12; II. Battalion: 5./IR 20, 8./IR 24, 12./IR 35, 12./IR 64; III. Battalion: 2./IR 93, 10./IR 27, 12./IR 26, 8./IR 66. The garrison was Strasbourg .
Together with the infantry regiment "King Wilhelm II of Württemberg" (6th Royal Saxon) No. 105 , it formed the 85th Infantry Brigade belonging to the 30th Division .

First World War
The regiment made on August 2, 1914 mobile . After heavy losses at Blanzy, the remnants of the regiment were combined in a battalion. At the end of the month the regiment was replenished. As a result of further losses, the 4th, 8th and 11th companies were dissolved on August 20, 1918.
Whereabouts
After the end of the war, the remnants of the regiment marched to Bad Wildungen , where the unit was initially demobilized and finally disbanded from January 1919 . At the end of December 1918, a volunteer battalion had already been formed from parts of the 1st Division of the 1st Landesschützen Brigade (Landesschützenkorps). In February 1919, a volunteer company was also set up, which then functioned as the 5th company of the " Eulenburg " Freikorps .
The tradition in the Reichswehr was adopted by the 16th Company of the 12th Infantry Regiment in Halberstadt by decree of the Chief of Army Command, General of the Infantry Hans von Seeckt , on August 24, 1921 .
