The A Grupa 1968/69 was the 45th season of the highest Bulgarian football league . The season began on August 11, 1968 and ended on June 29, 1969. Master was CSKA Sofia .
During the winter break, Slavia Sofia merged with Lokomotive Sofia to form ZSK Slavia Sofia. Slavia kept the points, the fifteen second round matches of Lokomotiv Sofia were rated 0: 3.
Sparta Sofia merged with Levski Sofia to form Levski-Spartak Sofia. Levski kept the points, for the last 15 games Spartak was replaced by Akademik Sofia and took over its place in the table and previous results.

The 16 teams played against each other twice on a total of 30 match days, divided into a first and a second round. At the end of the season, the two bottom of the table were relegated to the B Grupa .
