The Adenbach is a two and a half kilometers long orographically right tributary of the Odenbach in the area of the Rhineland-Palatinate districts of Bad Kreuznach and Kusel .

course
The Adenbach rises in the corridor An der Backmuld at the southern foot of the Krummel hill and at the northern foot of the Sparrow . Its source is at an altitude of 340 m above sea level. NHN in the eastern edge of a deciduous forest and north of the municipality Becherbach lying residential space Rothenbaumerhof . The local community belongs to the Meisenheim association in the Bad Kreuznach district.
The stream initially flows a good two hundred meters west through forest terrain, then curves to the left and runs first in a north-north-west, then in a northerly direction through an ash swamp forest at the western foot of the Krämmels. After almost half a kilometer, he passes the district border from Bad Kreuznach to Kusel and enters the area of the local community of Adenbach , which is part of the Lauterecken-Wolfstein community . Immediately afterwards it is reinforced on its right side by the Inselbach coming from the northeast .
The Adenbach now runs accompanied by thick wood in the Flur Am Damm in a slight curve westwards through a narrow valley, wooded on both sides, between the slopes of the Eichelberg on its right and those of the Kohlberg on its left. It now flows north past the former Lorenzigrube coal mine , then runs through the corridor An der Grub on the southern edge of the forest through a small island with fields and meadows. There is a tiny pond south of the creek. Shortly afterwards, the brook coming from the south from the Bacherskeller flows towards it on its left . Further south there is the former St.Jakobsgrube mine and in the north of the Adenbach the Ludwigsgrube .
The Adenbach now flows westward on the edge of the forest through the Talwingert corridor , then turns in an arc to the north-northwest, then passes the New Cemetery and then reaches the outskirts of the village of the same name at the Bergwies corridor . Immediately afterwards it disappears piped underground and reappears on the surface at Mühlstrasse . A little further downstream, a mill ditch of the Odenbach, which used to operate a mill there, flows into the Adenbach from the left .
The Adenbach now runs south of Hammelsgasse in a west-north-west direction, then crosses under the state road 382 and finally flows west of Adenbach at an altitude of about 166 m from the right into the Odenbach coming from the south .
Catchment area
The 2.5 km² catchment area of the Moorbach lies in the natural area of the Moschelhöhen , which is a sub-area of the North Palatinate Uplands and thus also part of the Saar-Nahe Uplands . The highest elevation of the catchment area is the Sperbling hill northwest of Becherbach with a height of 380.9 m . Other notable hills are the 350.7 m high Krämmel north of the Rothenbaumerhof, the 344.3 m high Eichelberg located southwest of the Becherbach district of Roth and the Kohlberg located north-west of Ginsweiler with 341.4 m . The area of the bog brook bordered to the northeast by the catchment area of the Glan inflow Reiffelbach , as well as to the area of the inflow Hollerbach and South competes the opening into the Odenbach Odenbach . The largest part of the Moorbach catchment area is occupied by sandy - loamy fields and the stream meadows and the adjacent hills are predominantly overgrown by forest. The Adenbach drains over the Odenbach , the Glan , the Nahe and the Rhine into the North Sea . The difference in altitude from its source to its mouth is 174 m, which corresponds to a mean bed slope of about 67 ‰ for a run length of about 2.6 km.
geology
The catchment area of the Adenbach lies in the Rotliegend of the Permocarbons in the Lower Glan subgroup . The sediment layer consists of alternating layers of gray, sometimes red, claystone , siltstone and sandstone . Occasionally there are also tuff and limestone deposits . In the area east of Adenbach there used to be plentiful coal deposits.
nature and environment
At the upper reaches of the brook there are poplars , broken willows , ash trees and black alders on the banks and the angle sedge and common worm fern develop in the herb layer below . In which located on the left side Esch swamp forest is also still growing hazels . To the west of the swamp forest is an orchard meadow with apple and sweet cherry trees . White clover , white oat , German ryegrass and meadow ball grass grow on the ground .
On the south-western slope of the Eichelberg there are old and completely bushy fallow vineyards . Robinia , English oak , spruce , Norway and field maples as well as sweet cherry and apple trees grow there . In the shrub layer , the black elder , the blackberries , the dog rose , the wild pear , the sloe , the plum , the wild apple , the single hawthorn , the blue-red dogwood and the sand birch as well as the grapevine and the common clematis grow . The white carnation , the field widow flower , the real St. John's wort , the wild carrot , and the little Odermennig as well as the vertebrate and the common dost develop on the bottom .
At the middle course of the brook there is a valuable biotope with high perennials and spring meadows , woodland and reed borders . On its banks are broken willow, spruce, ash, black alder and sycamore, as well as black elder, gooseberry , red currant, single hawthorn and hazelnut bushes.
