Alena Wassiljeuna Amjaljussik ( Belarusian Алена Васільеўна Амялюсік , Russian Елена Васильевна Омелюсик / Yelena Vasilyeva Omeljussik ; English transcription Yelena Omelyusik or Alena Amialiusik * 6 February 1989 in Babruysk ) is a Belarusian cyclist , on road and rail is active. She is eleven times Belarusian champion (as of 2019) .
Athletic career
After Amjaljussik took third place in the junior individual time trial at the European Road Championships , she initially devoted herself to track cycling in the adult area. At the UCI Track World Championships in 2008 , she was fourth in the team pursuit with Aksana Papko and Tazzjana Sharakova . Also in 2008 she was ninth in the U23 European Track Championships, ninth in points and sixth in scratch .
On the road she was six times Belarusian champion until 2014, three times in the road race and three times in the individual time trial. She represented her country at the Olympic Games in London in road races and finished 15th. She won a stage each of the Route de France Féminine 2012, Tour de l'Ardèche 2013 and 2014, Vuelta Internacional Femenina a Costa Rica 2014 and two stages of the Vuelta Ciclista Femenina a el Salvador 2014, where she was second overall. She had previously won the one-day race Grand Prix El Salvador in 2014 . At the end of the season, she won the overall mountain classification of the 2014 Women's Cycling World Cup .
In 2015 Amjaljussik became world champion in the team time trial together with Lisa Brennauer , Karol-Ann Canuel , Barbara Guarischi , Mieke Kröger and Trixi Worrack , at the European Games she won the gold medal in the road race. The following year she started at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro : She finished 13th in the road race and 11th in the individual time trial. In 2018, she was vice world champion in the team time trial with the Canyon SRAM team, and the following year she was world champion again .
