Stará Paka (German: Altpaka ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located six kilometers northwest of Nová Paka and belongs to the Okres Jičín .

history

Stará Paka was first mentioned in writing in 1357. It is not known when the settlement took place. The place belonged to the Kumburk rule . One school is occupied for 1790.

In 1858 Stará Paka received a station on the Pardubice – Liberec line of the south-north German connecting line . With the construction of the Velký Osek – Trutnov connection of the Austrian Northwest Railway , the Stará Paka station became an important railway junction in 1870. In 1906 the local railway from Mladá Boleslav ( Jungbunzlau ) was put into operation.

  • The St. Laurentius Church was built in 1754 on the site of an earlier wooden church and expanded and renovated around 1890.
