Anastasia Rodionova ( Russian Анастасия Ивановна Родионова Anastasia Ivanovna Rodionova , German transcription Anastassija Iwanowna Rodionova ; born May 12, 1982 in Tambov , Soviet Union ) is a Russian-born tennis player who has been playing for Australia since 2008 (2: 4). Her sister Arina is also a professional tennis player.

Career

Anastasia Rodionova, the daughter of a tennis coach, prefers grass pitches for her game from the baseline.

In 1998 she won her first individual title at the ITF Women's Circuit in Minsk , followed by her first ITF double title in 2001 . In total, she won eight singles and 13 doubles titles at ITF tournaments.

2003 reached Rodionova with her doubles partner Andy Ram the Mixed Finals of Wimbledon; they lost to the pairing Martina Navrátilová and Leander Paes with 3: 6, 3: 6.

At the Commonwealth Games in 2010, she won the gold medal and the silver medal in mixed singles and doubles.

On the WTA Tour Rodionova can only show tournament victories in doubles. She won her first title in 2005 with Jelena Wesnina at the tournament in Québec, France . She was able to celebrate another in Estoril in 2007 together with Andreea Ehritt-Vanc . The third title followed in June 2010 in Rosmalen , where she defeated Vania King and Jaroslawa Schwedowa in three sets alongside Alla Kudrjawzewa in the final . She secured the fourth title in February 2012 at the side of Sania Mirza in Pattaya . She won double title number five in January 2013 in Auckland together with Cara Black from Zimbabwe. In Québec she was successful a second time in September of the same year at the side of Kudrjawzewa. They celebrated three more WTA titles in January, February and October 2014 at the tournaments in Brisbane , Dubai and Tianjin .
