Oberbottigen-Riedbach is a common quarter in the VI Bümpliz-Oberbottigen district and the statistical district 30 Oberbottigen in the city of Bern . Adjacent common quarters in the east are Riedern and Niederbottigen . In the north, west and south, the common quarter forms the city limits of Bern; in terms of area, it is the largest quarter in Bern.
In 2019, the resident population was 1261, of which 1160 were Swiss and 101 were foreigners.
Until 1919 the area belonged to the municipality of Bümpliz and was then incorporated into Bern with it. It is mainly used for agriculture. The center is the village of Oberbottigen; other villages are Matzenried and Riedbach, plus a few smaller hamlets. The historically significant hamlet of Chäs und Brot is one of them. In the west and south-west there is a larger forest area (forest with «Chlyne Forest» and «Grosse Forst»). The eponymous Riedbach is a small stream that flows into the Gäbelbach near the Riedbachmühle (now a restaurant).
The Hotel and Restaurant Bären in Oberbottigen describes itself as the highest hotel in Bern.

In Riedbach there is a train station on the Bern – Neuchâtel line with a S-Bahn connection to Bern and Kerzers . There is also a connection to the center with bus line 32 .
