Bodenweid is a common quarter in the VI Bümpliz-Oberbottigen district and the statistical district 29 Bümpliz in the city of Bern . Neighboring quarters are the Bümplizer quarters Weidmatt , Bümpliz Süd and Stöckacker . In the east it borders on Ausserholligen and in the south on the Könizbergwald - both are located in the district III Mattenhof-Weissenbühl .
In 2019, the resident population was 78, including 27 Swiss and 51 foreigners.
A smaller residential area (row house settlement) is located west of Weissenstrasse on the border with Ausserholligen. The dominant feature is the business and industrial park in Freiburgstrasse with its seven “towers”. The area is more than 70,000 m². Companies and businesses that require office services or a mix of production and office services are located here. A fitness center and a restaurant complete the offer. Other companies are located in the east, such as Mercedes-Benz AG in a former garage owned by Saurer , a former Swiss manufacturer of trucks. In addition, there is a sports field in Bodenweid with a training park from International Street Workout (ISW), the third official facility of its kind in Switzerland.
The Bümpliz Süd station (lines Bern – Freiburg and Bern – Laupen ) connects the area with the city center with the S-Bahn lines S1 and S2 . The bus lines 27 and 31 run tangentially. With the autobahn connection Bern-Bümpliz / Köniz, the quarter is connected to the autobahn 12 of the Swiss national road network.
