A school and a church were built for this purpose. The construction time was short, the financial and technical means were limited. Significant parts of the settlement are today in the building inventory of the city of Bern as worthy of protection and thus classified as cantonal objects (K objects).
The Bethlehemacker II settlement was planned as a large development from 1966 and built between 1968 and 1974. This includes five high-rise buildings and comprises 872 new apartments. A kindergarten, a business center and a garage were also built. Row houses in settlement I were torn down for construction.

For a replacement new building, 63.6 million francs have been spoken. The school pavilions and the gym building are to be renovated.
The Domicil Bethlehemacker as a competence center for dementia offers 73 care and nursing places in two-bed rooms.
