Old Bethlehem is a common quarter in the VI Bümpliz-Oberbottigen district and the statistical district 32 Bethlehem in the city of Bern . It borders on the common Bethlehem quarters of Blumenfeld , Berthlehemacker and Untermatt . In the north and east it borders on the Great Bremgarten Forest .
In 2019 the resident population was 969, of which 618 were Swiss and 351 were foreigners.
The residential development consists mainly of older one and two-family houses. Several companies have their headquarters in the quarter, such as the wholesale for groceries Prodega Bern , a company headquarters of the construction company Frutiger for building construction and flooring technology and Elektro-Burkhalter for electrical engineering services as well as a transport company and a printing company.
traffic
The tram line 8 and the post bus line 101 connect the old Bethlehem with the center. The bus 27 operates tangentially between Niederwangen -Bahnhof and Weyermannshaus -bath. The Autobahn 1 can be reached quickly via the Bern-Bethlehem exit.
