Winterhale (often also Winterhalde ) is a Bern district in the VI Bümpliz-Oberbottigen district and the statistical district 29 Bümpliz . Adjacent quarters are the Bümplizer quarters Stapfenacker , Bümpliz Dorf and Kleefeld . In the west it borders on Niederbottigen .

In 2019 the resident population was 935, of whom 739 were Swiss and 196 foreigners.

Winterhale is primarily a settlement area with older single and multi-family houses. A densification of the living space is being considered for this area. The Bümpliz cemetery is located on the territory of Winterhale. A kindergarten (winter dump) is located directly on the edge of a small wood in the northwest.

Of the nearby stations Bümplizstrasse-North or Bern Brünnen West Side run on the railway line Bern-Neuenburg S-webs to Bern (fifteen minutes) and in the direction Kerzers (half hour), with a connection to Morat or Ins or Neuenburg . The tram line 7 runs from there over the center of Berne Ostring. The bus lines 27 and 32 run through the residential area.
