Blumenfeld is a common quarter in the VI Bümpliz-Oberbottigen district and the statistical district 32 Bethlehem in the city of Bern . Adjacent are the common Bethlehem quarters Tscharnergut , Ackerli , Bethlehemacker , Old Bethlehem and Untermatt . Moreover Stöckacker and SPMS Bümplitzer quarters Schwabgut and Fellergut .
In 2019 the resident population was 941, of whom 376 were Swiss and 565 were foreigners.
Blumenfeld is one of the residential areas with a high proportion of foreigners from southern Europe (around 60%). Smaller three- to four-story blocks from the 1940s and 1950s predominate in the building fabric - the situation is compared with the Untermattweg and Looslistrasse areas.
The new "beerhaus" building at Bümplitzstrasse 45 serves as an administration building. The Bern Commercial Industrial Vocational School also uses it as one of its seven locations. The Salvation Army maintains a Brocki in the neighboring building for buying and selling used goods.
traffic
The tram line 8 and the post bus line 101 connecting Bethlehem field with the center. The bus 27 operates tangentially between Niederwangen -Bahnhof and Weyermannshaus bath. The Autobahn 1 can be reached quickly via the Bern-Bethlehem exit.
