Bouessay is a French municipality with 736 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in Mayenne in the region Pays de la Loire in France . The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Château-Gontier and the canton of Meslay-du-Maine (until 2015: canton of Grez-en-Bouère ).

Bouessay is about 38 kilometers southeast of Laval . Bouessay is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Loup-du-Dorat in the north and north-west, Auvers-le-Hamon in the north and east, Sablé-sur-Sarthe in the south and east and Saint-Brice in the west and south-west.
