Daon is a French municipality with 502 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Mayenne in the region Pays de la Loire ; it is part of the arrondissement of Château-Gontier and the canton of Azé (until 2015: canton of Bierné ). The inhabitants of the parish are called Daonnais .

Daon is the southernmost municipality in the Mayenne department. It is located about 31 kilometers north-northwest of Angers . Daon is surrounded by neighboring communities
- Coudray in the north,
- Bierné-les-Villages with Argenton-Notre-Dame in the north and northeast and Saint-Michel-de-Feins in the east and northeast,
- Les Hauts d'Anjou in the south and east,
- Ménil in the west.
