Val-du-Maine is a French municipality with 929 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Mayenne in the region Pays de la Loire . It belongs to the arrondissement of Château-Gontier and the canton of Meslay-du-Maine . The inhabitants are called Valmainois .

Geographical location

Val-du-Maine is around 35 kilometers west-southwest of Laval on the River Erve . Val-du-Maine is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Chémeré-le-Roi in the north and northwest, Saulges in the north, Cossé-en-Champagne in the east and northeast, Poillé-sur-Vegre in the southeast, Auvers-le-Hamon in the south, Beaumont-Pied-de-Bœuf in the south and south-west and Préaux in the west.

On January 1, 2017, the municipality was formed as Commune nouvelle from the previously independent municipalities Ballée and Épineux-le-Seguin .
