Celia Foulon

Célia Foulon (born April 14, 1979 ) is a former French rower who was world champion in 2004.

Athletic career

Célia Foulon, who started for Reims Reg. , Finished fifth in the two-man category at the 1997 Junior World Championships without a helmsman . The following year she reached sixth place in the same boat class at the Nations Cup , a forerunner competition to the U23 World Championships , and in 2001 she won the title in this boat class together with Virginie Chauvel . Chauvel and Foulon also competed at the 2001 World Championships and finished twelfth. The following year, the two French women rowed to ninth place at the 2002 World Championships .

In contrast to Chauvel, Foulon could not qualify for the Olympic Games in Athens in 2004 . At the 2004 World Championships , which were only held in the non-Olympic boat classes, she competed with Marjolaine Rossit , Audrey Galy and Marie Le Nepvou in a foursome without a helmsman . The French women won with 1.72 seconds ahead of the Russians and Belarusians. In 2005, Célia Foulon and Marie Le Nepvou formed a new pair without a helmsman and rowed to eighth place at the 2005 World Championships . In 2006 both moved to the French eighth , who finished tenth at the World Championships .
