Christopher "Chris" Wagner (born May 27, 1991 in Walpole , Massachusetts ) is an American ice hockey player who has played for the Boston Bruins in the National Hockey League on the position of the center since July 2018 .
Career
Wagner initially played during his junior years from 2008 to 2010 for the South Shore Kings in the Eastern Junior Hockey League . From there he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft 2010 in the fifth round in 122nd place by the Anaheim Ducks from the National Hockey League . The striker decided to study at Colgate University and played at the same time for the university's ice hockey team in ECAC Hockey , a division of the National Collegiate Athletic Association .
After Wagner was signed by the Anaheim Ducks in April 2012, he switched to the professional camp for the 2012/13 season and played in the American Hockey League for the most part with the Norfolk Admirals , who acted as the Ducks farm team , in the following three seasons Use before he could also make his debut in the NHL in the 2014/15 season . But there were only nine missions during this period. At the beginning of the 2015/16 season , the American was regularly deployed for Anaheim. However, he was selected by the Colorado Avalanche in November 2015 when trying to send him to the new farm team San Diego Gulls in the AHL via the waiver list . They used him in a total of 26 games until February 2016, before he returned to Anaheim via the waiver list, where he was given directly to the San Diego Gulls. In April, Wagner's expiring contract was extended early by two years.
In February 2018, Wagner was given to the New York Islanders in exchange for Jason Chimera for the trade deadline . There he ended the 2017/18 season, but received no further contract, so he joined the Boston Bruins as a free agent in July 2018 .
