Christian Kramer (* 12. September 1983 in Merseburg as Christian Ritter ) is a German triathlete . He is included in the best list of German triathletes on the Ironman distance .

Career

Christian Ritter started swimming as a teenager, was active as a rescue athlete and took part in both world and European championships. He has been running triathlon since 2005.

In 2006 he became German champion in the Olympic distance (1.5 km swimming, 40 km cycling and 10 km running) in the age group 20 to 25 years.
He started together with Daniel Unger and Jan Frodeno for the Hansgrohe Black Forest team in the Triathlon Bundesliga , where he was German runner-up in 2007 and German team champion in 2008.

First Ironman start in 2009

In 2010 he moved to the club SC DhfK Leipzig . His nickname is Max . In 2013 he married Susanne Kramer and has started as Christian Kramer ever since . He lives in Göthewitz with his wife and two children .

In June 2014 at Ironman Austria in Klagenfurt he reached the third fastest time ever achieved by a German athlete on the Ironman distance (3.86 km swimming, 180.2 km cycling and 42.2 km running) - only Andreas Raelert and Jürgen Zäck were faster. Christian Kramer is one of the fastest German swimmers on the long distance triathlon. His best time over 3.8 km is 45:07 minutes ( Ironman Wales , 2012).

In May 2015 he finished second at the Ironman Lanzarote . This year he was also able to qualify for a starting place at the Ironman Hawaii for the fourth time .

At the German championship on the long distance triathlon he finished third in July 2016.

Winner triathlon EDF Alpe d'Huez 2017

In July 2017, the then 33-year-old was the first German triathlete to win the EDF Alpe d'Huez triathlon on the long distance (2.2 km swimming, 118 km cycling and 20 km running).

In May 2019 he finished second at the Ironman Lanzarote again after 2015.
