Comedy Central Switzerland is the German-speaking Swiss branch of the US cable broadcaster Comedy Central . The specialty channel of the media group ViacomCBS broadcasts entertainment programs with a focus on comedy .
On May 16, 2011, the broadcaster took over the broadcasting time of VIVA Switzerland (8:15 pm– 05: 00 am ) on the shared channel with Nickelodeon Switzerland ( 5:00 am– 8 :15 pm). In the cable networks, the previous digital distribution of Comedy Central / Nickelodeon Germany was discontinued and replaced by VIVA Germany .
The program on Comedy Central Switzerland was interrupted until August 31, 2011 from 10:10 p.m. until the early hours of the morning with a continuous advertising broadcast, while the regular comedy program ran on Comedy Central Germany.
Since September 8, 2014, Comedy Central has already started its program at 5:00 p.m., and VIVA's program can be seen between 6:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Up to September 30, 2014, the program was simulcast on the previous and on the VIVA frequency. On October 1, 2015, Comedy Central will broadcast from 2:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. and therefore 1 hour less than before. VIVA broadcasts its program between 2:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Comedy Central Switzerland has been broadcasting 24 hours a day since December 31, 2018 at 2 p.m. VIVA has been discontinued.

design
From May 16, 2011 Comedy Central presented itself in a 3D glass world look. The corner logo was transparent and was in the upper left corner.
Since October 1, 2011, Comedy Central Switzerland has also been broadcasting with the new internationally used design. As previously done at Nickelodeon and MTV, an identical design is now being introduced for Comedy Central worldwide. The new design is in 2D and should look younger. With the new design, the station also received a new corner logo. The logo is next to the USA and a. already used in Poland, Hungary and Sweden. The Netherlands, like Germany, Austria and Switzerland, received the new design on October 1st.
Since September 1, 2014, Comedy Central has been broadcasting with a new design. The design from 2011 was fundamentally revised, but the logo remains as such. At the same time, a fade-in (top right in the corner) began to indicate the VIVA frequency about the move.
