MTV Switzerland is the Swiss version of the TV channel MTV .
history
On April 1, 2008, the Swiss version of the TV channel MTV started .
On October 5, 2010, MTV announced that MTV Germany and MTV Austria would only be available as paid subscription channels. An exception is Switzerland, where the German-speaking MTV Switzerland can still be received free of charge.
On July 1, 2011, the new station logo from the USA was also adopted in Switzerland.

program
MTV Switzerland's program mainly consists of reality programs. Music videos are only broadcast from around 3 a.m. to 12 p.m., i.e. only 9 hours a day. At the beginning of October 2015, MTV Switzerland tested a concept to end the music broadcasts as early as 9 a.m. and start the reality broadcasts. However, this concept was rejected after a short time. MTV Germany , which was discontinued as an independent program on October 1, 2015 and has since taken over the program from MTV Switzerland, but with German advertising windows, broadcast from around 2 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., i.e. around 12.5 hours a day, Music videos.

MTV Switzerland is broadcast digitally via cable (DVB-C) via UPC Switzerland . MTV Switzerland is also broadcast via IPTV on Sunrise TV , Swisscom TV and Zattoo TV . Reception via satellite (DVB-S) is not possible.
