MTV Entertainment was a German pay TV broadcaster that began broadcasting on December 1, 2007. Most recently, the station was received through several program providers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland . The signals are fed in via the Astra satellite system. In Germany, the program could be obtained from the Sky Welt Extra platform . Since April 1, 2009, the station could also be received via Kabel Deutschland. MTV Entertainment was replaced in Germany on January 1, 2011 at 3:00 am by MTV Germany . In Switzerland, the station was replaced on some networks from January 15, 2011 by MTV Brand New .
Program content
MTV Entertainment broadcast 24 hours a day. In addition to rock music and classic clips, numerous MTV shows, primarily of US origin, were broadcast. In addition, the station has a different topic every day. The program was organized by MTV Networks Germany GmbH in Berlin .

Admission
The broadcaster received broadcasting approval from Medienanstalt Berlin-Brandenburg , which is also the supervisory state media authority of the channel. On February 12, 2008, the broadcaster received approval to expand the program to 24 hours from the Commission for Determining Concentration in the Media Area (KEK). This was put into practice on January 10, 2010. Originally, the channel shared the slot with the children's specialty program Nick Premium , which is also operated by MTV Networks Germany GmbH.
