The German Touring Car Masters 2000 was the first season of the German Touring Car Masters ( DTM ). The first run took place on May 28, 2000 at the Hockenheimring and the season finale also took place on October 29 at the Hockenheimring.

A total of 18 races were held in Germany . Two runs were carried out on each of the 9 race weekends.

Overall winner was Bernd Schneider in the AMG-Mercedes CLK DTM with 221 points. For Schneider it was the second title win after 1995.

  1. a b Team Rosberg initially started the racing season without a sponsor with start numbers 14 and 15. When the sponsor "Service 24" joined the team, the start numbers were changed to 24 and 42 for marketing reasons.
