Roger Daltrey
Roger Harry Daltrey , CBE (born March 1, 1944 in Hammersmith , London ) is a British musician. He is the co-founder and singer of the rock band The Who .
Career
In addition to his musical career, Daltrey is also active as an actor. From 1975 he worked in a number of films. For his role as Tommy Walker in the film adaptation of the rock musical Tommy (directed by Ken Russell ), Daltrey was nominated for a Golden Globe in the category of Best Young Actor in 1976 . In Russell's eccentric film biography Lisztomania , he portrayed the composer Franz Liszt . In a BBC television production of Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors , he played the twin brothers Dromio. He had guest appearances in US television series such as CSI: On the trail of the perpetrators , Highlander , Witchblade and Rude Awakening . 1983 Daltrey played the main character Macheath in the opera The Beggar's Opera by John Gay and Johann Christoph Pepusch. In 1996 he had a leading role in the B-movie Vampirella .
In late 2004, he was named Commander of the British Empire for his services to music, the entertainment industry and youth with cancer . In contrast to colleagues such as Paul McCartney , Elton John or Mick Jagger , he was not raised to the nobility, this only happens from the second level of the order.
The Rolling Stone listed Daltrey in 2008 at number 61 of the 100 best singers of all time .
Private life
From 1964 to 1968 he was married to Jackie (Jacqueline) Rickman. They have one son. In 1971 he married the American Heather Taylor, with whom he is still together and has three children. Another son comes from an affair with the Swedish model Elisabeth Aronsson.

The album, produced by Adam Faith and Dave Courtney , was recorded at Daltrey's Studios in Burwash and the Beatles' Apple Studios in London. The album to the film of the same name, based on a true story, was released by Polydor in June 1980. It was produced by Jeff Wayne . The pieces were recorded in the Advision Studios in London. The vocals were recorded separately at Air Studios on the island of Montserrat in the Caribbean.

The album was released in 1985 by Virgin Records. It was produced by Alan Shacklock . With the song After the Fire composed by Pete Townshend , Daltrey achieved a respectable success in the singles charts. In the title song, several well-known drummers perform short solos in memory of Keith Moon , to whom the song is dedicated.

The album was released in 1987 by Virgin Records. The album was produced by Alan Shacklock , David Forster , Chas Sandford and Jimmy Scott .
Rocks in the head

A live album with recordings of two concerts in New York's Carnegie Hall from 1994 with interpretations of music by Pete Townshend. Artists included Pete Townshend, John Entwistle , Eddie Vedder , Sinéad O'Connor , Lou Reed , David Sanborn , Alice Cooper , Linda Perry and The Chieftains . The album was produced by Bob Ezrin .
Going Back Home (with Wilko Johnson)
The album, released in 2014 on the Chess Records label , is a joint project with the former guitarist of Dr. Feelgood , Wilco Johnson. There is a deluxe version with a bonus disc that contains additional studio recordings as well as live recordings by the Wilko Johnson Band and by Roger Daltrey and Wilko Johnson.
As Long as I Have You
In 2018 the tenth solo studio album by Roger Daltrey was released on the Polydor label . It was produced by Dave Eringa. Pete Townshend plays guitar on seven of the eleven pieces.
