  • Abstinence = abstinence from drug use.
  • Acid = LSD
  • Monkey (s) = drug withdrawal syndrome (mostly opioids , especially heroin and alcohol)
  • Alki = alcoholic
  • Angel Dust, scene name for phencyclidine PCP for short
  • Buying = prostitution , often getting money for heroin, then mostly through street prostitution
  • Asco = ascorbic acid (chemical name for vitamin C; admixture to increase the solubility of heroin in water)
  • Being on the air = being under the influence of chemical drugs (usually amphetamines or MDMA or ecstasy are meant)
  • auf ex (drink or similar) = empty an alcoholic drink in one go without stopping

B.

  • Bad Pill = evil pill, ecstasy pills with dangerous ingredients, see drug checking
  • Bad trip = bad drug trip (mostly hallucinogen trip)
  • Bad Vibes = negative empathic vibrations, "bad mood spreading"
  • Shooting = injections (of heroin), nasal amphetamine consumption or their effect (something "shoots")
  • Bases = extract the effective cocaine bases with ammonia and smoke
  • (a) building = rolling a joint
  • Benzos = benzodiazepines , such as diazepam or lorazepam
  • Berliner Tinke = predecessor substance of heroin on the German black market
  • Procurement prostitution = prostitution used to finance drug consumption
  • Bhang = traditional hemp preparation, which is used in Hindu religious rituals, among other things
  • Bicycle Day = " Bicycle Day " (April 19, 1943): The day is now considered to be the time when the psychoactive properties of LSD were discovered.   • Bodystuffing = swallowing drugs (narcotics) to hide them
  • Bong = smoking device similar to a water pipe, but without a hose, mostly for hashish
  • Fire = thirst for alcohol consumption
  • Brown sugar = (contaminated) heroin
  • To be wide = to be intoxicated, often through mixed consumption with alcohol
  • Bubble = spherical packaged consumer unit, mostly used for cocaine and heroin
  • Buffing = smoking a cannabis cigarette ( joint )
  • Bunker = narcotics hiding place

C.

  • C = synonym for cocaine
  • Candyflip = timely mixed consumption of MDMA and LSD , which should have a special effect
  • Chalice (also Wisdom Chalice or Chillum Chalice ) = is a pipe that is mostly used by members of the Rastafarian movement to smoke cannabis products
  • Check = sell or get drugs (checker)
  • Cheese = heroin and pain reliever combined
  • Chillum = conical, tubular smoking device that is smoked through the palm of the hand; but also part of a bong
  • Being clean = no longer taking drugs (mostly only in relation to narcotics recorded under criminal law)
  • Coffeeshop = cannabis sales point in the Netherlands
  • Coke = cocaine
  • Connection = trading relationship with drug dealers
  • Cookie = biscuit, often made with cannabis butter
  • Crack = cocaine boiled with baking powder
  • Craving = medical term for substance craving
  • Crusher = small herb grinder for crushing herbal drugs (mostly cannabis)
  • Crystal = synonym for methamphetamine hydrochloride in crystalline form
  • Cutten ( English blend) = result of admixtures billigster fillers (flour, etc.) to produce stretched blended product

D.

  • D-IX = an experimental drug that was developed to be given to German soldiers
  • Dawamesk = special, cannabis-containing baked goods
  • Deal = deal with drugs
  • Dealer = in the narrower sense a seller of illegal narcotics and stimulants, see drug trade
  • Deep Purple = term for LSD (English "deep purple")
  • Depri = from depression, mostly psychological withdrawal (coming down) from soft drugs
  • German hedge = unpotent, defiant and often rather damp hemp plant parts. Mostly rich in leaves (these hardly contain THC).
  • Dew = being dense, strong marijuana intoxication
  • Diaz = Diazepam , a sedative like Rohypnol
  • Dope (from "doping" with amphetamines) = hashish, rarely heroin
  • Downer = sedatives , substances that generally have a calming effect
  • Drauf / Druff = being under the influence of drugs (mostly MDMA or ecstasy is meant)
  • Three-leaf = type of rolling of a joint in which three leaves are used to roll
  • Drobs = drug advice center ; The drug counselors are drobse
  • Drop-out = dropping out of college or school
  • Pressing = injecting narcotics - usually intravenously
  • Drug checking = chemical analysis of psychotropic substances that are mostly traded on the black market
  • Drugwipe = drug wipe test for testing people for drug use or contact with them

  • E = ecstasy
  • ECA stack = mixture of different doping agents for building muscle in body building

  • Flash = sudden onset of action, especially the feeling of elation or happiness
  • Flashback = controversial reverberation psychosis (echo intoxication) after drug use
  • Flex = MDPV
  • Flugsalbe = witch's ointment
  • Flunnis = Flunitrazepam (Rohypnol®)
  • Frankfurt applause = light tapping with outstretched fingers on the veins in the elbow of the other arm - preparation for intravenous drug use (especially heroin ) or allusion to it
  • Fusel = unclean, cheap alcohol, which usually causes severe nausea

  • G (pronounced in English) as a collective term for GHB or GBL
  • G (mostly pronounced in German) = quantity (1 G = 1 gram)
  • Ganja = marijuana
  • Glazed (pill) = ecstasy pill dripped with LSD
  • Golden shot = fatal overdose (mostly heroin is meant)
  • Good Vibes (from English vibrations) = good, spreading mood, in the empathic sense
  • Good trip = a good trip (mostly LSD )
  • Grass = marijuana
  • Grinder = small herb grinder for grinding herbal drugs (mostly cannabis)
  • Green Turk = Moroccan hashish , mostly coarse plant material in the lower quality levels
  • Greens / greens = marijuana
  • Grow cabinet = device for growing plants under artificial light indoors
  • Growshop = shop where you can buy seeds and accessories for growing cannabis
  • Gun = (English pistol) syringe

H

  • H (mostly pronounced “äitsch” [eɪtʃ] in English ) = heroin
  • Hallus = hallucinations
  • Getting stuck = experiencing a drug-induced psychosis (usually no clear distinction is made between a temporary, psychotic phase and the much less likely lapse into a permanent, psychotic state.)
  • Hanger = last drag on a cigarette / joint before it is thrown away
  • Haze = common, very late maturing cannabis cultivar
  • Headshop = paraphernalia trade , primarily for smokers
  • Hedge = grass, marijuana (of poor quality)
  • Hek = from hekto , a 100 gram hashish plate
  • Hero = heroin
  • High = state of intoxication
  • Dutch joint = type of rolling of a joint in which less rolling paper is smoked when smoking than with conventional joints; also called "inside out"
  • Homegrowing = self-cultivation of cannabis plants (for the production of marijuana)
  • Horror trip = subjectively perceived negative or threatening psychedelic intoxication
  • Hotboxing = an intoxicating ingestion practice among cannabis smokers in closed rooms

I.

  • ICE = methamphetamine, rarely also 4-methaminorex
  • Ice-O-Lator = technical application of hashish production with ice water, in which this becomes solid and can be selectively sifted out
  • Indoor growing = artificial light plant cultivation in the interior
  • inside out = see Dutch joint

J

  • Jibbet = cannabis cigarette, see joint
  • Joint = cannabis cigarette

  • Short = consumption unit of around 2–4 cl of an alcoholic drink
  • Kush = place of origin of a well-known dark hashish variety

L.

  • L = leaf several ordinary cigarette papers or long papers are adhered together L-shaped to a longer joint to rotate
  • Legal highs = (sometimes controversial) legal stimulants
  • Line = linear accumulation of cocaine, amphetamine or heroin intended for pernasal inhalation
  • Liquid = LSD dissolved in distilled water or alcohol
  • Liquid Ecstasy = scene name for 4-hydroxybutanoic acid or γ-hydroxybutyric acid, GHB for short (gamma-hydroxybutyric acid)
  • Longpapers , Longpapes, Longs = the special rolling paper that is used to roll a joint

  • Magic mushrooms = hallucinogenic mushrooms , contain psilocin and derivatives
  • Marihuanilla = Siberian motherwort , a type of plant in the mint family
  • Meter = milliliter ( methadone (Polamidon®))
  • Meth = abbreviation for methamphetamine ( crystal meth )
  • Metha = methadone
  • Mikros = the size of a pinhead with LSD as an active ingredient on different carriers
  • Mindblaster = oversized hash cigarette
  • Mix = mixture of hemp and tobacco
  • Moon Rocks = cannabis buds coated with hash oil and kief
  • Morning Glory = Morning Glory , crush the seeds and eaten
  • Murphy = morphine
  • Mutokuane = in Africa a type of tobacco made from the dried leaves of the hemp plant

N

  • Nederwiet = generic term for Dutch cannabis breeds, some with an unusually high THC content
  • Needle Park = Platzspitz in Zurich
  • Needle sharing = the use of needles and / or syringes by several consumers
  • Northern Lights = a cross-bred cannabis strain and one of the first successful hybrids of Cannabis indica and Cannabis sativa
