List of drug use terms

The list of drug use terms includes slang and subcultural terms related to the use of legal and illegal stimulants. Corresponding articles can be found in the category: drug use and category: alcohol use .

A.

Abstinence = abstinence from drug use.
Acid = LSD
Monkey (s) = drug withdrawal syndrome (mostly opioids , especially heroin and alcohol)
Alki = alcoholic
Angel Dust, scene name for phencyclidine PCP for short
Buying = prostitution , often getting money for heroin, then mostly through street prostitution
Asco = ascorbic acid (chemical name for vitamin C; admixture to increase the solubility of heroin in water)
Being on the air = being under the influence of chemical drugs (usually amphetamines or MDMA or ecstasy are meant)
auf ex (drink or similar) = empty an alcoholic drink in one go without stopping

B.

Bad Pill = evil pill, ecstasy pills with dangerous ingredients, see drug checking
Bad trip = bad drug trip (mostly hallucinogen trip)
Bad Vibes = negative empathic vibrations, "bad mood spreading"
Shooting = injections (of heroin), nasal amphetamine consumption or their effect (something "shoots")
Bases = extract the effective cocaine bases with ammonia and smoke
(a) building = rolling a joint
Benzos = benzodiazepines , such as diazepam or lorazepam
Berliner Tinke = predecessor substance of heroin on the German black market

Procurement prostitution = prostitution used to finance drug consumption

Bhang = traditional hemp preparation, which is used in Hindu religious rituals, among other things

Bicycle Day = " Bicycle Day " (April 19, 1943): The day is now considered to be the time when the psychoactive properties of LSD were discovered. The anniversary is celebrated as Bicycle Day by LSD fans of pop culture, as the explorer Albert Hofmann rode home on his bike at the beginning of his deliberately induced intoxication.

Bidi, Beedi = Indian cigarette, consisting almost entirely of tobacco

Beer bong = device that serves to consume a large amount of beer in a short time

Blotter = Engl. for blotting paper, the most important form of carrier for LSD

Bubbler = see bong

Bubbling = cannabis with a bong smoking

Blunt = cigar that is traditionally separated and refilled with marijuana .

Bodypacking = transporting drugs into body orifices (e.g. in the excretory tract or in the vagina)

Bodystuffing = swallowing drugs (narcotics) to hide them

Bong = smoking device similar to a water pipe, but without a hose, mostly for hashish

Fire = thirst for alcohol consumption

Brown sugar = (contaminated) heroin

To be wide = to be intoxicated, often through mixed consumption with alcohol

Bubble = spherical packaged consumer unit, mostly used for cocaine and heroin

Buffing = smoking a cannabis cigarette ( joint )

Bunker = narcotics hiding place

C.

C = synonym for cocaine
Candyflip = timely mixed consumption of MDMA and LSD , which should have a special effect
Chalice (also Wisdom Chalice or Chillum Chalice ) = is a pipe that is mostly used by members of the Rastafarian movement to smoke cannabis products
Check = sell or get drugs (checker)
Cheese = heroin and pain reliever combined
Chillum = conical, tubular smoking device that is smoked through the palm of the hand; but also part of a bong
Being clean = no longer taking drugs (mostly only in relation to narcotics recorded under criminal law)
Coffeeshop = cannabis sales point in the Netherlands
Coke = cocaine
Connection = trading relationship with drug dealers
Cookie = biscuit, often made with cannabis butter
Crack = cocaine boiled with baking powder
Craving = medical term for substance craving
Crusher = small herb grinder for crushing herbal drugs (mostly cannabis)
Crystal = synonym for methamphetamine hydrochloride in crystalline form
Cutten ( English blend) = result of admixtures billigster fillers (flour, etc.) to produce stretched blended product

D.

D-IX = an experimental drug that was developed to be given to German soldiers

Dawamesk = special, cannabis-containing baked goods

Deal = deal with drugs

Dealer = in the narrower sense a seller of illegal narcotics and stimulants, see drug trade

Deep Purple = term for LSD (English "deep purple")

Depri = from depression, mostly psychological withdrawal (coming down) from soft drugs

German hedge = unpotent, defiant and often rather damp hemp plant parts. Mostly rich in leaves (these hardly contain THC).

Dew = being dense, strong marijuana intoxication

Diaz = Diazepam , a sedative like Rohypnol

Dope (from "doping" with amphetamines) = hashish, rarely heroin

Downer = sedatives , substances that generally have a calming effect

Drauf / Druff = being under the influence of drugs (mostly MDMA or ecstasy is meant)

Three-leaf = type of rolling of a joint in which three leaves are used to roll

Drobs = drug advice center ; The drug counselors are drobse

Drop-out = dropping out of college or school

Pressing = injecting narcotics - usually intravenously

Drug checking = chemical analysis of psychotropic substances that are mostly traded on the black market

Drugwipe = drug wipe test for testing people for drug use or contact with them

E.

E = ecstasy
ECA stack = mixture of different doping agents for building muscle in body building
Driving in = being arrested and detained or using chemical drugs such as B. Ecstasy
Bucket = utensil for THC consumption, in the classic form consisting of a bucket as a container, a bottomless plastic bottle as a smoke body and a sieved aluminum foil as the "head".
Emma = MDMA or Ecstasy
Ethnoflip = MDMA & hallucinogenic mushrooms (mostly psilocybe species)
Eve = MDEA

F.

Fantasy = GHB / GBL

Fixen = injecting narcotics, mostly heroin

Fixer = someone who injects heroin (see Heroin # Intravenous use )

Fixer cutlery = consumer items, mostly syringes, spoons, stretching tubes and lighter

Fixerstube = drug consumption rooms , public facilities for the more hygienic and lower-risk consumption of hard drugs

Flash = sudden onset of action, especially the feeling of elation or happiness

Flashback = controversial reverberation psychosis (echo intoxication) after drug use

Flex = MDPV

Flugsalbe = witch's ointment

Flunnis = Flunitrazepam (Rohypnol®)

Frankfurt applause = light tapping with outstretched fingers on the veins in the elbow of the other arm - preparation for intravenous drug use (especially heroin ) or allusion to it

Fusel = unclean, cheap alcohol, which usually causes severe nausea

G

G (pronounced in English) as a collective term for GHB or GBL

G (mostly pronounced in German) = quantity (1 G = 1 gram)

Ganja = marijuana

Glazed (pill) = ecstasy pill dripped with LSD

Golden shot = fatal overdose (mostly heroin is meant)

Good Vibes (from English vibrations) = good, spreading mood, in the empathic sense

Good trip = a good trip (mostly LSD )

Grass = marijuana

Grinder = small herb grinder for grinding herbal drugs (mostly cannabis)

Green Turk = Moroccan hashish , mostly coarse plant material in the lower quality levels

Greens / greens = marijuana

Grow cabinet = device for growing plants under artificial light indoors

Growshop = shop where you can buy seeds and accessories for growing cannabis

Gun = (English pistol) syringe

H

H (mostly pronounced “äitsch” [eɪtʃ] in English ) = heroin

Hallus = hallucinations

Getting stuck = experiencing a drug-induced psychosis (usually no clear distinction is made between a temporary, psychotic phase and the much less likely lapse into a permanent, psychotic state.)

Hanger = last drag on a cigarette / joint before it is thrown away

Haze = common, very late maturing cannabis cultivar

Headshop = paraphernalia trade , primarily for smokers

Hedge = grass, marijuana (of poor quality)

Hek = from hekto , a 100 gram hashish plate
Hero = heroin
High = state of intoxication
Dutch joint = type of rolling of a joint in which less rolling paper is smoked when smoking than with conventional joints; also called "inside out"
Homegrowing = self-cultivation of cannabis plants (for the production of marijuana)
Horror trip = subjectively perceived negative or threatening psychedelic intoxication
Hotboxing = an intoxicating ingestion practice among cannabis smokers in closed rooms

I.

ICE = methamphetamine, rarely also 4-methaminorex
Ice-O-Lator = technical application of hashish production with ice water, in which this becomes solid and can be selectively sifted out
Indoor growing = artificial light plant cultivation in the interior
inside out = see Dutch joint

J

Jibbet = cannabis cigarette, see joint
Joint = cannabis cigarette
Junkie = drug addict (mostly of heroin) who is more absorbed by the addiction than the rest of his life (junk = junk)

K

K-Hole = special intoxication experience when consuming a high dose of ketamine
Knockout Drops (knockout drops) = drugs that have a narcotic effect and be used therapeutically as a bedroom or tranquilizers
give yourself the edge = excessive drug use
Kawumm = large pipe pipe with two openings, can also be smoked together
Hangover (alcohol intoxication) = aftermath of excessive alcohol consumption
Käthe (or Aunt Käthe) = ketamine
Kick = immediately onset, strong intoxication experience
Kief = powdery substance from the trichomes of the hemp plant
Smoking weed = smoking cannabis or marijuana , consuming a joint
Kiseru = an old Japanese pipe
Knaster = colloquial for smokable parts of plants or tobacco
Coca, coke = cocaine
King mix = cocaine & amphetamine (with cannabis but also grass & hashish)
Head (also: Köppen or Köpfchen) = head of a bong , pull from a bong (example: "Streu mal 'n Kopf")
Crocodile = desomorphine , as the greenish discoloration of the skin around the injection site is reminiscent of crocodile skin
Sphere = or globule, see bubble
Short = consumption unit of around 2–4 cl of an alcoholic drink
Kush = place of origin of a well-known dark hashish variety

L.

L = leaf several ordinary cigarette papers or long papers are adhered together L-shaped to a longer joint to rotate
Legal highs = (sometimes controversial) legal stimulants
Line = linear accumulation of cocaine, amphetamine or heroin intended for pernasal inhalation
Liquid = LSD dissolved in distilled water or alcohol
Liquid Ecstasy = scene name for 4-hydroxybutanoic acid or γ-hydroxybutyric acid, GHB for short (gamma-hydroxybutyric acid)
Longpapers , Longpapes, Longs = the special rolling paper that is used to roll a joint

M.

Magic mushrooms = hallucinogenic mushrooms , contain psilocin and derivatives
Marihuanilla = Siberian motherwort , a type of plant in the mint family

Meter = milliliter ( methadone (Polamidon®))

Meth = abbreviation for methamphetamine ( crystal meth )

Metha = methadone

Mikros = the size of a pinhead with LSD as an active ingredient on different carriers

Mindblaster = oversized hash cigarette

Mix = mixture of hemp and tobacco

Moon Rocks = cannabis buds coated with hash oil and kief

Morning Glory = Morning Glory , crush the seeds and eaten

Murphy = morphine

Mutokuane = in Africa a type of tobacco made from the dried leaves of the hemp plant

N

Nederwiet = generic term for Dutch cannabis breeds, some with an unusually high THC content
Needle Park = Platzspitz in Zurich
Needle sharing = the use of needles and / or syringes by several consumers
Northern Lights = a cross-bred cannabis strain and one of the first successful hybrids of Cannabis indica and Cannabis sativa

O

Optics = optical effects of a drug; less often more specific: pseudohallucinations, mostly under the action of LSD or Psyloc (yb) in
Ot, Ott (from Turkish Ot = grass, weeds) = term for cannabis
Outdoor-Growing = illegal outdoor planting; also guerrilla growing

P

Packing (English pronunciation) = a paper folded into a sachet (a parcel typical of the scene ) in which portions of powdered intoxicants, such as B. heroin, cocaine or various amphetamines, are packed for transport
Puffing = smoking cannabis, but also: do not draw smoke into your lungs when smoking
Cardboard = LSD on blotting paper perforated in portions or cardboard
Papers = (large) cigarette papers for building joints
Peace = PCP, phencyclidine - note the similar-sounding name piece for hashish. Often this is wrongly written or out of ignorance Peace.
Pep = amphetamine
Piece = piece or part (English); Piece of hashish
Pill = an Ecstasy or Subutex tablet
Mushroom = hallucinogenic mushrooms , contain psilocin etc. Derivatives
Pipe = pure or hashish pipe
Plate = pressed hashish, usually 100 g
Seal = portion of powdered intoxicants wrapped in plastic film, such as B .: Heroin (oa cocaine), which is twisted at one end like candy and then welded over the flame of a lighter, - has the reason that the seals (usually several) are transported by the seller in the mouth and in the case of a Police control (raid) can be swallowed
Pola = Polamidon , a so-called substitution drug
Polish soup = dark brown liquid containing morphine
Poppers = alkyl nitrites , such as B. amyl nitrite or propyl nitrite, solvents, also muscle relaxant among homosexuals
Pot = cannabis , hashish
Psilos = mushrooms containing psilocybin
Pump = injection syringe
push = dealing with drugs
Purple drank = mixed drink, which comprises codeine includes

Q

Quartz = smoking (of cannabis)
Source = drug laboratory, main drug dealer

R.

Rockets = LSD trips that are stretched with PCP
Rock = crack , cocaine base
Ropies, Ropse, Roiperl (Viennese) = Rohypnol® tablets
Red Lebanese = hashish made the Lebanese way
Snot = nasal consumption of amphetamine

S.

Safer Use = behavior to avoid hazards when consuming drugs

Safer sniffing = using your own sniffing tube as protection against infections

to drink = consume a lot of alcohol

Skull = head of a pipe or a bong

Schimmelafghane = hashish that is coated with white mold and is said to be more potent

Fast = amphetamine

Snow = cocaine

Black Afghan, also black hashish = variety of hashish mostly from Afghanistan

Session = LSD session, initially with an LSD-experienced "guide"

Shillum = smoking utensil, see Chillum

Shit = hashish

Shore = heroin

Sieve (chen) = sieves for the pipe, bubbler or bucket head

Siff = old bong water

Siffkopf = insult in cannabis slang

Sinsemilla = female cannabis flowers not pollinated by male pollen

Skunk = cannabis cultivar (originally nickname of the American who brought this variety into circulation)

Smack = heroin

Smartshop = shop for non-criminalized narcotic drugs, such as herbs or mushrooms

Sniffing (also sniffing ) = sniffing solvents; nasal consumption of drugs (e.g. cocaine, heroin, etc.)

Space cookies = cookies that contain hemp

Space cakes = biscuits or small cakes that contain hashish

Spice = mixed product made from different, dried herbs and parts of plants

Speed = amphetamine

Speedball = a combination of heroin and cocaine that is snorted or injected intravenously

Mirror drinker = alcoholic who drinks at regular intervals (24 hours) to maintain a certain alcohol level

Spliff = joint; only with marijuana without tobacco

Spliffen = With your mouth slightly open next to the filter, pull on a joint very hard and long so that the smoke penetrates deeper into the lungs

Strawberry K = Popular form of the narcotic ketamine with a strawberry flavor

Stones = crack

Steckies = constricted pupils after heroin consumption, also cigarette cases

Sticki = cigarette with cannabis rolled out of short papes, see joint

Substance = a colloquial term for drugs

stoned = (rather sedated ) intoxication of drugs from hemp varieties, see cannabis

Stoner-Movie = also Stoner-Film or Kiffer-Film is a film whose plot revolves around the consumption of cannabis or hashish drugs or in which they appear

Stretching, diluents = mixing drugs with other, cheaper substances; such as lactose in powder such as speed

Substi = substituted person, recipient (in) of methadone , polamidon or Subutex , see also substitution therapy

Sud = tar residues in pipes and bowls that are scraped off (de-brewed) and smoked

Suff = event for which the consumption of a lot of alcohol is central, see drinking

Super Skunk = a cross-bred cannabis strain and a hybrid of Cannabis indica and Cannabis sativa

T

Talk down = speak empathetically to someone who is having a bad trip to help them
Parts = ecstasy tablets
Thai-H (mostly pronounced in English) = white instead of the usual cinnamon-colored, either ultra-pure heroin or stretched fentanyl
Ticking = dealing with drugs
Ticker = drug dealer
Ticket = LSD
Tip = A filter made of cardboard for the joint
Drinking game = game for which the consumption of alcohol is central
Trip = psychedelic high
Tripsitter = sober companion who takes care of the trippers; especially important in psychedelic experiments
Tschibuk = Turkish pipe
Bag = joint / cigarette conical shape, mostly filled with tobacco-hemp mixture
Turkey (pronounced in English) = withdrawal symptoms from heroin, visible in the patient's fowl-like posture
Turkish (smoking), Turkish round = keep the smoke in your lungs until the joint has done the round and it's your turn again (also called Russian, prison round or Polish round).

U

Upper = drive-enhancing, stimulating drugs like amphetamine, in contrast to downers
User = consumer

V

Vaporizer or vaporiser = is a device for vaporizing active ingredients.
Vein cure = drug therapy
be crazy = have consumed excessively hard drugs
Distribute = sell drugs to someone

W.

Weed = marijuana
White Widow = a variety of cannabis
Whoonga = mixture of marijuana, rat poison, detergent powder and AIDS antivirals

X

XTC = ecstasy

Y

Yaba, Yama = methamphetamine

Z

Magic mushrooms = hallucinogenic mushrooms
Magic haze = PCP
Zero-Zero = famous Moroccan hashish
Note = LSD on paper
Zivi = police officer in civilian clothes
Zuckerl / Zucki = LSD dripped onto a sugar cube
