Dušan Vemić ( Serbian - Cyrillic Душан Вемић ; born June 17, 1976 in Zadar , SR Croatia , Yugoslavia ) is a former Serbian tennis player .
Career
Vemić was able to achieve greater success as a double specialist, even if he was denied a title on the ATP World Tour . He won a total of 15 doubles, but also a single title on the second-rate Challenger Tour , while he lost both of the ATP finals that he could reach. In Grand Slam tournaments , he reached the semifinals at both the French Open 2008 and the Australian Open 2010 . Vemić played from 1996 to 2005 for the Yugoslav and the Serbian Davis Cup team . In 18 participations he recorded 20 wins, 11 in singles and 9 in doubles. At the Olympic Games in Sydney in 2000 , he competed under the flag of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia in men's doubles . Together with Nenad Zimonjić , he retired after a defeat against the French Arnaud Clément and Nicolas Escudé in the first round.
