The Dutch Darts Masters was a ranking tournament in darts and was organized for the fifth time by the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) from February 12th to 14th, 2016 . It was the first event of the European Darts Tour , which was carried out as part of the Pro Tour 2016 . The venue was the Evenementenhal in Venray for the second time .

The defending champion was Michael van Gerwen , who won the tournament again for the third time.

format

The tournament was played in a knockout system . Game mode in all rounds was a best of 11 legs . Each leg was played in double-out mode.

Prize money

The tournament totaled £ 115,000 in prize money. The prize money was distributed among the participants as follows:
