PDC Pro Tour 2016
The PDC Pro Tour 2016 included a series of PDC darts tournaments , most of which were not broadcast on TV. In 2016 there were 20 Players Championships , six UK Open Qualifiers and ten European Tour events for the professionals . A total of 36 tournaments were played. These tournaments were also taken into account when calculating the PDC Pro Tour Order of Merit .
Prize money
The prize pool of the Players Championships and the UK Open Qualifiers has increased. The prize money of the European Darts Tour remained unchanged

PDC Pro Tour Card
In order to play the PDC Pro Tour, one must have a tour card that is valid for two years. This entitles the holder to participate in all Pro Tour tournaments.
A total of 128 tour cards were awarded:
- (63) 1 - Top 64 of the PDC Order of Merit after the PDC World Championship 2016
- (27) 1 - 28 of 34 qualifiers of the PDC Qualifying School 2015 who were not already in the top 64 of the Order of Merit.
- (2) - The two best players of the PDC Challenge Tour 2015 ( Jan Dekker 2 and Richie Corner)
- (2) - The two best players of the PDC Development Tour 2015 ( Mike de Decker and Bradley Kirk 3 )
- (2) - The two best players of the PDC Challenge Tour 2014 ( Alan Tabern and Mark Frost)
- (1) - The two best players of the PDC Development Tour 2014 ( Dimitri Van den Bergh 2 and Josh Payne )
- (1) - The winner of the Scandinavian Order of Merit ( Kim Viljanen )
- (16) - The 16 qualifiers of the PDC Qualifying School 2016
- (14) 2 - The top 14 of the Q-School Order of Merit
