The Egyptian Premier League 2008/09 was the 52nd season of the Egyptian Premier League , the highest Egyptian championship in football since its introduction in 1948/49 .
The climbers from the Egyptian Second Division 2007/08 were Ittihad El-Shorta , Asyut Petroleum and El-Olympi . Aluminum Nag Hammâdi , Baladeyet El-Mahalla and Suez Cement are no longer represented in Egypt's top division . The defending champion is al Ahly Cairo .
