The donkey skirt is a two-day music festival , which since 2008 annually in spring in Wesel on the Lower Rhine takes place. The free-and-outside event takes place in Heubergpark and is not limited to any music genre.
history
The idea for EselRock arose in 2007 as part of the youth fair in Heubergpark in Wesel. The first festival took place in 2008 and attracted around 7,000 visitors. The name goes back to the donkey from Wesel . As part of the festival, artists and bands from the region known throughout Germany play on two stages - the main stage and the lake stage. The planning and organization of the festival is carried out by EselRock eV, founded in 2010, and implemented together with volunteers. In 2010 and 2011 over 10,000 people attended the festival. EselRock is a " Free & Outside " festival. Musically it is not tied to any particular genre. Since 2014 there has been a so-called "acoustic warm-up" on the day before the actual festival, which aims to address older audiences in particular. On this day only the floating stage is used.
