European weightlifting championships

The European weightlifting championships for men have existed since 1896, those for women since 1988. Since 1988 the European championships for men and women have been held together. The organization and control of the implementation is subject to the European Weightlifting Federation .

Since 1947, with the exception of 1967, the European Championships have been held annually.
