Flemming Dental is a group of company law to a group merged dental laboratories in Germany . It was founded in 1998 as a stock corporation . The private equity fund Nordic Capital is behind her .

history

Flemming Dental was founded in 1998. The business economist Klaus Lange, previously a manager at Fielmann, drove the development of the company . The dental laboratory group grew mainly through takeovers . Between 1998 and 2001 sales increased twelve-fold from 14.2 to 167 million euros. This was possible because well-funded investors were involved. Initially, Gothaer was one of them, it owned the majority of the shares. Investors Christoph Kroschke and Klaus Lange also held shares. Later the investment company Capiton was also one of the main investors. In 1999 there were 44 laboratories in the network, in 2002 there were 87. Of these, 78 laboratories were located in Germany, seven in Sweden and one each in Latvia and Great Britain . Flemming Dental became the largest dental laboratory group in Europe.

After 2002, the growth path was followed by a policy of long-term consolidation. It was caused by the health reforms in Germany , which led to an increasingly restrictive spending policy by health insurers for dentures . In 2002 the investment company Capital Management Partners GmbH took over the majority of the shares, Gothaer reduced its stake to 44 percent. In the years that followed, the company adjusted the number of laboratories and employees, focused on high-performance locations, and combined laboratories into competence centers. In 2013, the Dental Partner Technology Center was founded in Leipzig (today Flemming Dental Tec GmbH , Flemming Tec for short ), which takes over the central CAD / CAM production for the laboratory group. In 2016 there were around 36 laboratories, 1,200 employees including around 100 trainees in the group. Since the beginning of 2011, Auctus Capital Partners AG held the majority of the shares through DPH Dental Partner Holding GmbH, founded in 2010 . In 2018, Nordic Capital took over the company as part of a comprehensive strategy to build a European dental group.

For product range of Flemming Dental include crowns and bridges , implant-supported dentures , dentures and temporary , rails and mouth protection products , veneers and special orthodontic treatment devices and methods.

As a service, Flemming Dental offers dental practices in addition to a classic collection and delivery service for dental technology products, technical customer support and special consulting services. This includes services in the areas of billing and training .

The company offers dental prosthesis financing to practices and patients . In 2003 Flemming Dental was one of the first companies to introduce this service in the dental market.

Flemming Tec , a sister company of Flemming Dental based in Leipzig, is the milling , competence and training center of dental laboratories. In addition, it tests new materials, products and processes for practicality.

With its sister company Flemming Dental International GmbH and the second brand Flemming International , the group offers dentures from international production.

According to its own information, Flemming Dental has a base of over 2,500 active customers.

Leadership and staff

Tobias Kiesewetter heads the company as managing director. At Flemming Dental there are around 100 people in vocational training , making the company the largest trainer in the dental industry in Germany according to its own statements.
