Mosbach summer
The Mosbach Summer is a nine-week open-air cultural program organized by the city of Mosbach in the summer months from July to the beginning of September . It takes place in different places and rooms in Mosbach and its districts. The large and small Elzpark, the Hospitalhof, the Alte Mälzerei , the market square and the moat in Mosbach- Neckarelz have always served as event locations. The events include open-air performances of theater and cabaret, concerts in the music genres pop, rock, classical, folk, jazz as well as hands-on activities, children's play festivals and open-air cinema nights.
history
The first Mosbach summer took place from July 6th to September 5th, 1986 under the motto “There's always something going on in Mosbach”. The aim of the series of events was to reach as many social strata and age groups as possible. The first "Mosbacher Summer" was successful, so the city decided to continue the series of events. In 2007, around 31,000 people visited the 22nd Mosbach Summer, which was the record number of visitors. Dieter Thomas Kuhn but also Jethro Tull and Deep Purple have been guests at Mosbacher Sommer several times.
