history

Fuchsendorf settlement

Slavic place names such as Gleiritsch , Hohentreswitz or Trefnitz are evidence of an early settlement of the area around the Kulm. In a further settlement phase, the focus of which was in the 10th and 11th centuries, a number of village places such as Pamsendorf , Fuchsendorf, Pischdorf or Altendorf emerged , which were “richt” and “ried” places such as Trichenricht , Lampenricht or Zeinried followed. In a Salbuch from the years 1473/75, the following taxes are listed under Fuchsendorf: "Money interest 2 shillings and 15 pfennigs".

Thirty Years' War

The Thirty Years' War from 1618 to 1648 was a conflict over supremacy in the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation and in Europe and at the same time a religious war that also reached the Upper Palatinate in 1621 and had devastating economic, social and cultural effects. The Nabburg office, to which Fuchsendorf belonged, was also badly affected. Robbery, fire and looting terrified the people and the livestock were greatly reduced. Epidemics and famines decimated the population in the Nabburg district by around 40 percent during this time. The residents of Nabburg and the surrounding villages had to pay for the war costs. For example, from 1628 to 1651 Fuchsendorf had to bear war expenses of 1119 guilders and 30 cruisers.

Fuchsendorf from 1700

In 1714 Thomas Freiherr von Quentel bought the Trausnitz estate. A list of the subjects belonging to the country estate reports one family in Ödmühle , five families in Atzenhof , eight in Söllitz , two in Köttlitz , five in Fuchsendorf, one in Bornmühle , one in Reisach and two in Deiselkühn. According to the parish register from 1782, Fuchsendorf belonged to the Hohentreswitz (St. Bartholomäus) branch church , which in turn was affiliated with the Nabburg parish. A property tax cadastre from 1842/43 reports that there were thirteen courtyard buildings in Fuchsendorf.

Tax District and Parish Education

The Kingdom of Bavaria was divided into 15 districts in 1808. These districts were named after rivers based on the French model ( Naabkreis , Regenkreis , Unterdonaukreis , etc.). The districts were divided into district courts. The districts in turn should be divided into individual municipality areas. In 1811 the district court of Nabburg was divided into 58 tax districts. One of them was Fuchsendorf, consisting of the villages of Fuchsendorf, Atzenhof, the lower Bühlhof, the hamlet Schweizerbach, the wasteland Bornmühle. The district had a total of 44 houses with 322 inhabitants. In the same year there were 22 chairmen in the district court of Nabburg, which corresponds to a municipality in today's sense. The chairmanship of Trausnitz included Trausnitz, Kaltenthal, Fuchsendorf, Köttlitz, Atzenhof, Schweizerbach, Bornmühle and Ödmühle. According to the municipal edict of 1818, there was a list of the existing municipalities in the Nabburg district court on June 14, 1819. The municipality of Pamsendorf with its 96 families includes the following localities, hamlets and wastelands: Pamsendorf, Trefnitz, Fuchsendorf, Bornmühle, Tauchersdorf, Wiesensüß, Kurmhof , Oberpfreimd, Rappenberg and Löffelsberg. Fuchsendorf was later assigned to the community of Söllitz and in 1946 came with the Bornmühle to the community of Hohentreswitz. The incorporation of the community of Hohentreswitz with Fuchsendorf into the city of Pfreimd took place on May 1, 1978.
