Lovrencsics played from 2006 to 2008 for the second-rate Budapest suburb Budafoki LC , with whom he was relegated to the third division in 2007. In 2008 he moved to the second-class Pécsi Mecsek FC . With the club he was 2010/11 champions of the second division of the season west, which the club returned to the first division after four second division seasons. He changed but to also in the first division playing Lombard Pápa , with whom he escaped as third from bottom with eight points distance to the relegation zone the descent, his old club while even two places was better placed.

For the 2012/13 season he was awarded to the Polish first division club Lech Posen , with whom he played for the first time in the 2012/13 UEFA Europa League at European level, for which the club had qualified as fourth in the previous season. With Lech he survived the first two qualifying rounds, eliminating the Kazakh runner-up Schetissu Taldyqorghan and the Azerbaijani runner-up FK Xəzər Lənkəran . He scored his only European goal to date against the Kazakhs. In the third round, the Swedish runner-up AIK Solna was stronger.

In the league he was runner-up with Lech and was thus qualified for the second qualifying round of the Europa League 2013/14, but in the cup Lech failed in the second round at the second division Olimpia Grudziądz . In the 2013/14 season he was then completely taken over and received a contract until 2016. In the 2013/14 UEFA Europa League , Lech survived the second qualifying round against the Finnish runner-up FC Honka Espoo . In the 3rd round they failed due to the away goals rule against the Lithuanian runner-up and cup winner Žalgiris Vilnius . The league was finished as runner-up again, in the cup he was eliminated with Lech in the round of 16 against the second division club Miedź Legnica .

The second qualifying round for the 2014-15 UEFA Europa League survived Lech against the Estonian runner JK Nõmme Kalju , in the following round of the third parties who had Iceland League UMF Stjarnan with a single goal in two games advantage. In 2015 he became Polish champion with Lech. In the cup , Lech lost the final against Legia Warsaw 2-1, but Lovrencsics was only used in the sixteenth and sixteenth finals.

As champions, Lech qualified for the second qualifying round of the 2015/16 Champions League, which was survived against the Bosnian champions FK Sarajevo . In the third round, the Swiss champions FC Basel were stronger. Lech was then allowed to continue in the play-offs of the 2015/16 UEFA Europa League . Here they prevailed against the Hungarian champions Videoton FC and reached the group stage, where they met again against FC Basel, who dominated the group together with Fiorentina . Only third place remained for Lech.

In 2015/16 , Lech was unable to match the performance of previous years in the league and only finished seventh. In the cup there was a new edition of the previous year's final and again Lech was left behind against Legia, but this time he was on the field until the 92nd minute, then the striker Kamil Jóźwiak was substituted for him without affecting the result (0: 1) something else changed.

For the 2016/17 season he moved to his Hungarian homeland to the Hungarian champions and cup winners Ferencváros Budapest . As champions, Ferencváros qualified for the second qualifying round for the 2016/17 UEFA Champions League . There they failed at FK Partizani Tirana on penalties after both games had ended 1-1. In the 2016/17 season they were able to defend the cup against local rivals Vasas . In the league , however, it was only enough for fourth place, which entitles them to participate in the first qualifying round for the 2017/18 UEFA Europa League . They survived this with two victories against the Latvian runner-up FK Jelgava . In the second round it came out after two defeats against FC Midtjylland . He played the 1: 3 in the second leg together with his younger brother Balázs . He has also played for Ferencváros since the 2017/18 season. The 2018/19 season ended with the championship. In the 2018/19 UEFA Europa League , the team failed in the first qualifying round after a 1-1 home game due to a 1-0 defeat at Maccabi Tel Aviv . In the 2019/20 UEFA Champions League they survived the first two qualifying rounds, the third qualifying round then brought the end to a 4-0 home defeat against Dinamo Zagreb after a 1-1 away game. The team then qualified for the group stage in the third qualifying round of the 2019/20 UEFA Europa League , but was eliminated there in third place.

National team

Lovrencsics was first invited to an international match of the Hungarian national football team in June 2013 and came on June 6 in the friendly against Kuwait to his first international match when he was substituted on in the second half. In the next 14 international matches he was used seven times, but never for more than 90 minutes. Then there was an eleven-month break, during which he only sat on the bench three times in six games. On October 11, 2015, he was used again in the last group match in the qualifying for the European Championship 2016 against Greece and scored the interim 1-1 with his first international goal, but was replaced after 62 minutes when the score was 2: 2. The Hungarians lost the game 3: 4. The Hungarians already had third place and thus a place in the relegation. In this they first met in Oslo on Norway and won 1-0, where he was substituted for captain Balázs Dzsudzsák for the final quarter of an hour . In the second leg in Budapest he played for the first time over 90 minutes and with a 2-1 victory, the Hungarians qualified for the first time since 1972 for a European Championship finals.

On May 9th he was appointed to the provisional EM squad and also considered for the final squad on May 31st. After being nominated for the squad, he played a 90-minute mission in the last test match in the 2-0 defeat against world champions Germany , where he was rated “poor” by the kicker as one of two Hungarians. In the first two group games he could not be used due to injury. In the third game against the eventual European champions Portugal , in which several regular players were spared, he was then on the starting line-up for the first time. In the round of 16 against Belgium , he was then again in the top team. Hungary lost and was eliminated.

In the qualifying games for the 2018 World Cup following the European Championship , he was used in three of the first eight games. Since the Hungarians had no chance to qualify for the World Cup after these eight games, a World Cup participation was not possible for him so far. In the UEFA Nations League 2018/19 he had four operations and managed with his team as a group second behind Finland promotion to the B league. In the qualification for the EM 2020 he was used in all eight group games. In the end, it was only enough for fourth place. But since the Finns were able to qualify directly for the European Championship, the Hungarians as second in their Nations League group still have the chance to qualify via the playoffs in March 2020.
