history

The fertile valley was already settled in Carolingian times. About 300 m north of today's town center there was a prehistoric and early historical settlement of an unclear date, which is protected as a soil monument. In 1311 the place was first mentioned as "Gvnderamesdorf". The place name did not change for centuries. In 1733 this was slackened to "Gundersdorff", in 1799 finally to "Gunnersdorf". The defining word of the place name is the personal name Guntram.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were eleven properties in Gonnersdorf. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach Oberamt Cadolzburg . The village and township government had the box office Cadolzburg held. The landlords were the Kastenamt Cadolzburg (one yard), the Deutschordenskommende Nürnberg (five half yards, one mill), the imperial city of Nuremberg : Landesalmosenamt (one half yard, one quarter yard), St. Klara Klosteramt (one yard, one estate). In 1800 there were nine households in the village, one of which was subordinate to the Cadolzburg caste office and eight were from Nuremberg.

As part of the community edict, Gonnersdorf was assigned to the Steinbach tax district formed in 1808 . It belonged to the rural community Roßendorf founded in the same year . The Bavarian original cadastre shows Gonnersdorf in the 1810s with 16 hearths and the mill. To the west of it, the Farrnbach is dammed into a mill pond.

As part of the regional reform in Bavaria , Gonnersdorf was incorporated into Cadolzburg on July 1, 1972.

The place is still predominantly agricultural today. The largest hazelnut test facility in Europe is located in Gonnersdorf .
