The Hafenforum in the inner harbor of Duisburg is a former storage building. Today it is used as an office building, restaurant, information and communication center.

The Hafenforum was severely damaged by bombing during the Second World War and, like the neighboring trading post 21 , had to be rebuilt in the 1950s. In 1993, the city of Duisburg took over the building from the Roters and Buddenberg forwarding company in order to house the development company for the inner harbor of Duisburg (IDE).

After the London office Foster + Partners won the tender for the inner harbor with the master plan in 1990 , this was the team's first and also one of the smallest construction contracts. The load-bearing wooden construction in the gable area was preserved and exposed, the office space below was structured with glass and steel, the lettering "Hafenforum" was attached between the row of windows on the upper floor and the round windows in the gable. The renovation was completed in 1996. TreuHandStelle, THS Essen, acted as investor.

In the information and communication center of the IDE, information about the anchor point of the Route of Industrial Culture is available and the models and plans of the master plan are on display. The tours through the port area start from here. In addition, various exhibitions and cultural events take place in these rooms.
