The Faktorei 21 is a former logistics building in the inner harbor of Duisburg . Since the renovation was completed in spring 2000, it has been used as an office and restaurant building.

It is located in the Speicherzeile on the south bank of the inner harbor between the Werhahnmühle and the Hafenforum directly on the Hansegracht . The four-story building faces the harbor basin with the eaves. With the renovation, the gable roof in the middle was no longer provided with bricks, but with a glass surface, so that a bright atrium was created to illuminate the internal offices. On the ground floor there is the restaurant 'shop' which also uses the promenade at the harbor basin for catering.

The building was originally erected around 1900 on the former wood storage yard of the Luis Windhorst company on the Stapeltor quay. After the takeover by Allgemeine Speditions-Gesellschaft, a silo and smaller granaries were added. After being destroyed by bombing in World War II, it was rebuilt - like the neighboring Hafenforum - in the 1950s.

The reason for the last renovation was Sir Norman Foster and Partners' master plan for the redesign of the inner harbor, the client for this specific building renovation was the NRW Dental Association's pension fund, and the NRW state development company acted as the architect, the costs amounted to 6.5 million euros.

The 4500 m² office space is brokered by the joint Facility Support Service (FSS) project of Armin Quester Immobilien GmbH, Immobilien Volber Successor and GFW Duisburg. GFW Duisburg also organizes forums for medium-sized companies in the factories.
