Handball Regional League West 1977/78
The 1977/78 season of the men's regional handball league was the 8th in its history. A total of 26 teams in a north and a south relay played for the West German championship. The two season winners played for the title of West German champions in 1978 after 24 match days. Bayer Leverkusen achieved this in the final against TUSEM Essen .
In the top leagues had with the LTV Wuppertal (Niederrhein), SC Phönix Essen (Niederrhein), the TS Bendorf (Rhineland-Palatinate) and the TV White Tower (Rheinland-Pfalz) descend four teams.
