Hannes Wolf (born April 16, 1999 in Graz ) is an Austrian soccer player who is on loan from RB Leipzig to Borussia Mönchengladbach .

Wolf began his career at SC Seiersberg. In 2008 he moved to SV Gössendorf in the then club-internal subordinate youth department JAZ GU-Süd. In February 2012, due to the departure of JAZ GU-Süd, he switched to USV Vasoldsberg, which has since taken on the JAZ GU-Süd teams. In the summer of 2012 he went back to JAZ GU-Süd, which has been an independent registered football club since June of the same year. In 2014 he went to AKA Salzburg . In February 2016 he made his debut for FC Liefering in the second division .

He made his debut for FC Red Bull Salzburg in December 2016 when he came on as a substitute for Valentino Lazaro in the 75th minute of the sixth matchday of the 2016/17 Europa League against FC Schalke 04 . Here he also succeeded in submitting Josip Radošević's goal to make it 2-0. In the same month he also made his debut in the Bundesliga when he was brought into play on matchday 20 against Wolfsberger AC in the 85th minute for Takumi Minamino . He scored his first Bundesliga goal on August 5, 2017 against FC Admira Wacker Mödling .

He won the UEFA Youth League with the FC Salzburg U19 team in the 2016/17 season . With seven goals and four assists, he finished 3rd in the scorer's ranking of the competition.

For the 2019/20 season, Wolf moved to the German Bundesliga for RB Leipzig , where he received a contract that ran until June 2024. At the U21 European Championships in 2019 , he suffered an ankle fracture and had to undergo an operation. On matchday 14 of the 2019/20 Bundesliga season , the recovered Austrian was able to play for the red bulls for the first time in a competitive game. By the end of the season he made five Bundesliga appearances for Leipzig.

For the 2020/21 season, Wolf initially switched to league rivals Borussia Mönchengladbach for a year on loan , where he met head coach Marco Rose , under whom he had already played for two years in Salzburg. In an interview with the Rheinische Post , Wolf, in contrast to his club, said that the Gladbachers had an obligation to buy depending on their stakes. The Gladbach-based company still spoke of a purchase option with the obligation.

National team

Wolf played against Brazil for the first time for Austria's U16 team in April 2015 . He made his debut for the U21s in June 2017 when he started the European Championship qualifier against Gibraltar .

On September 28, 2017 , he was called up for the first time by Marcel Koller in the senior team .
